The Role of Communications, Campaigns and Outreach Manager
The Communications Manager will be an integral member of the senior management team (SMT), responsible for directing TJNA’s overall messaging strategy. This role leads the re-established Communications Department, guiding a team of communication specialists.
Responsibilities of the Role
The key duties of the Communications Manager include:
1. Strategic Communications & Brand Management
- Implementing TJNA’s comprehensive communication strategy
- Creating a multi-channel communication action plan
- Producing advocacy materials such as blogs, fact sheets, and policy briefs
- Maintaining brand consistency across various platforms
- Monitoring analytics for improved reach and impact
2. Campaign Leadership & Public Engagement
- Designing and managing advocacy campaigns
- Representing TJNA at media events and conferences
- Building relationships with journalists and media outlets throughout Africa
3. Leadership & Department Oversight
- Establishing the strategic direction for the communications department
- Recruiting and supervising a diverse team
- Managing departmental budgets and reports
- Providing strategic input to the Executive Director and Board
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Required Qualifications and Experience
